This page is dedicated to honoring those who carry the light of the Buddha's teachings into the world — both ancient and modern.
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, is one of the most widely respected spiritual leaders of our time. As the foremost figure in Tibetan Buddhism, he has dedicated his life to promoting nonviolence, interfaith harmony, and the cultivation of compassion as the foundation for personal and global peace.
Born in 1935 in a small village in northeastern Tibet, he was recognized at age two as the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama. Exiled to India in 1959 following the Chinese occupation of Tibet, the Dalai Lama has since become a symbol of resilience, universal ethics, and boundless compassion.
Beyond religion, he encourages us to live as conscious global citizens, guided by kindness, mindfulness, and understanding. His teachings transcend borders and traditions — a true voice on the path toward awakening.
Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche is a Tibetan Buddhist master known for his joyful presence and ability to blend ancient wisdom with modern science. A respected teacher in the Kagyu and Nyingma traditions, he is the founder of the Tergar Meditation Community and author of The Joy of Living. His teachings emphasize awareness, compassion, and the power of the mind to transform suffering into freedom.
Pema Chödrön is an American Buddhist nun and beloved teacher in the Shambhala and Tibetan Vajrayana traditions. Known for her warmth, honesty, and down-to-earth wisdom, she has helped countless people work with fear, pain, and uncertainty through teachings on compassion and mindfulness. She is the author of When Things Fall Apart and other spiritual classics.
